Eric Gibbons was born in 1974 in Dayton, Ohio. He came to art at an early age drawing detailed battle scenes and football games. Having studied art and graduating with top honors, very little has changed. Though his interest in football has waned, battles of all kind still fascinate him.Mr. Gibbons' paintings have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions throughout Texas and in New York and Connecticut. His work has recently been featured in New American Paintings, Artlies, and Voices of Art.
Mr. Gibbons has received numerous awards and honors including a First Place award granted by the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City and the Martin and Elizabeth Walling-Turner Award for Painting.
Eric Gibbons enjoys playing the guitar, Cy Twombly, Wayne Thiebaud, The New York Dolls, and Joni Mitchell. He lives and works in Austin, Texas.
